| Laura Silver Senior Innovation Consultant What is your role at SENSEI? I work with the teams to develop original, innovative programming that is strategic and meaningful for our clients. We work to ensure that creative dynamic ideas also deliver for the bottom line and client goals. I have a very broad experience including living and working in Europe that often informs my unique perspective. How long have you been in healthcare communications? More than 19 years now. Sometimes, it seems so brief because I am always doing something new and I continue to get very enthusiastic about what I work on. And then sometimes, it seems like a very long time indeed. What do you like about consulting? Everything. I get to have the hands-on experience with clients that I had been promoted away from at big agencies. I enjoy the variety and flexibility of client work as well as the fun of working with different teams. I am extremely selective about the agencies I work with and I am proud to have been working with the SENSEI team since the beginning. What is your area of expertise? I have been lucky enough to work across a wide range of therapeutic areas and geographic areas. Therapeutically I have expertise in many areas including oncology, nephrology, immunology (HIV, MS and vaccines) and respiratory medicine. I also have extensive experience working on national and global issues/crisis management. Did you know you'd be doing this when you were young? I didn’t even know this was a job. I wanted to be a costume designer. What is your favorite thing about yourself? I am a cynical optimist. Beyond the clichéd “plan for the worst and hope for the best,” I think I take it further and truly believe that good planning and strong thinking will always lead you to success. If you could be any form of transportation, what would it be? Myself. I love to walk and run and I feel absolutely sure that with the right training and time, my feet can get me anywhere I want to go. If you could be any rock star, who would you be? Cher in the 70s -- Bob Mackie, killer body and hits like Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves. And, oh, to be that tall! What are three things that you couldn’t live without? A weekly manicure, good shoes and my dog, Ella. |
