Jen Solar
Account Supervisor

How long have you been at SENSEI?
Since November 2003.

What is your role at SENSEI?
I work on a variety of accounts, which include two oncology products (one for ovarian cancer), a vitamin supplement account and a specific project for a non-profit organization aiming to increase routine HIV testing.

How did you start with SENSEI?
The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition is my link to SENSEI. I am the President of the NOCC -- New York City Division. I initiated the division about three years ago. NOCC is a volunteer-based organization that has about 45 divisions across the country. The mission is to raise awareness and education about ovarian cancer. We're a grassroots, advocacy organization that encourages women to advocate for themselves and be aware. I got involved because of my mom and grandmother.

Tell me about a SENSEI highlight?
One thing I admire about SENSEI is the size. The first project that catapulted me into being involved was working on a new business pitch for an oncology product. On that project I was working more on the art end of the presentation. It was the first opportunity to work directly with Susan, Sarah and everyone else on the account and also getting involved with the content. What a great way to learn. We were here a few late nights and on the weekend, so you go through that, "Oh my gosh, this is exhausting and I just want to go home" to "We won the business." It was that collaborative learning.

Do you have a personal motto?
Follow your heart and gut and keep life in perspective. There's a lot to be said for being pragmatic, but there's also a lot to be said for just focusing on the now. Appreciate what you have and just go with it.

How frequently do people tell you that you look like Cameron Diaz?
Pretty frequently. I'm starting now to think, isn't there a role for a sister?
