| Liz Panos Senior Consultant What is your role at SENSEI? I manage a very rewarding and interesting project for our aspirin account from my office in London. It's a project that the client holds up internally as a model for how message development should and can work and how you can be most prepared for issues. How long have you been in healthcare communications? Since 1990. When did you start with SENSEI? I started with SENSEI when Susan made the decision to start a company and asked me to help her get it up and running. We worked in the office of colleagues/friends, Alan Weiss Productions. Susan and I shared Alan's office and sometimes I sat in the hallway. It's been a wild ride. What are your areas of expertise? Core content development and issues management. What has been your unique contribution to SENSEI? I've helped strengthen existing client relationships and manage the business we have while enabling us to grow. I have lots of ideas, but Susan has an idea a minute and I can put it into action. Can you describe a quintessential SENSEI time? We were doing a communications audit for a company that was thinking about developing a diet product. We, therefore, threw ourselves into it with our usual gusto and passion and each took a piece and wrote a portion of the project. It occurred to me that we would be really good a writing a book together. It was humorous and lively and really interesting. We were learning about new things, which always makes us tick. We worked together in a really seamless, creative way. It's the way we are. Did you know what you wanted to be when you grew up? I always had a sense that I wanted to work in communications and do something that involved writing. I thought I wanted to be a journalist. But being objective is not my strong point. On this side of the business, I can have a point of view and communicate that point of view. What is your favorite thing about yourself? I had a friend tell me that she thought we couldn't be friends at first because she thought I was way too chipper. I am a strange mix of a really positive, almost chirpy outlook on life, but at the same time have a very serious, almost dark, looming self as well. I'm happy and dark. It makes for an interesting life for my husband. What are three things you couldn't live without? Books, ice cream and travel. |
